CHIN correction
Chin correction is usually purely aesthetic surgery. A chin implant is a piece of solid silicone, available in various thicknesses and widths.
The implant is placed through an incision:
- under the chin or
- inside the mouth. The last method leaves no external scar behind but would have a slightly higher risk of infection.
The implant is placed under the chin muscles.
Chin surgery can be combined with a nose job. Sometimes a big nose is extra accentuated by a small chin, in which case a chin implant can lead to a better balance of the face.
The procedure can be done under local anaesthetic and involves little risk.
In many cases is opted for a correction with a temporary filler or fat injections. This allows the patient to get a clear simulation, without surgery before making the final decision.
