REVIEW OCTOBER 2023
"Dear, I am very satisfied with the treatment! My life has really changed a lot since the procedure and I feel much more confident in my own skin. Recently bought new tops that I would NEVER have put on before the treatment, but now without problems and without armpit ponds! Even if I have to work in a white tight shirt, there is hardly any sweat to be seen after a long and hard shift (the normal amount) and odors are also much less. I look to the future with great enthusiasm and to stop worrying in public or when shopping. Thank you so much! Greetings,"
TESTIMONIAL WOMAN (25 YRS)
A few weeks ago I had the miraDry treatment at the Global Care Clinic.
MiraDry, what exactly is that?
MiraDry is a treatment that was originally intended for hyperhidrosis patients (sweating a lot, especially under the armpits).
Over the years they have discovered that the miraDry can also be applied to patients who want more comfort in daily life and no longer want to use harmful deodorants etc. I am one of these patients, I myself have never suffered from sweat and smell under my armpits, but the comfort appealed to me more.
The miraDry treatment itself goes smoothly and without too much pain and injections.
- First, the armpits are properly disinfected and the sweat test is done to see in which places you sweat the most
- Based on this test, the grid is chosen, this grid is used to treat the entire armpit surface.
- After disinfecting, Doctor Nelissen will anesthetize both armpits, here you feel something, and that's all.
- The least unpleasant part of the treatment is now over and you are not far away from sweatless and odorless armpits π After the treatment, the armpits are disinfected again and cooling packs are placed to cool down and provide soothing.
It is advisable to take Ibuprofen within 1 to 2 hours after the treatment, this can possibly be alternated with Paracetamol. The only annoying thing that can be observed is a burning sensation and the swelling. The swelling and bruising can last for a few days to weeks, but pain or a burning sensation is no longer there. It is possible that the swelling pulls to the arms or more to the side of the chest area. These side effects disappear into thin air when you notice what a difference this makes in your daily actions!
Furthermore, I would not make great physical efforts on the day of the treatment such as vacuuming or shopping. The further use of the cooling pack can offer some soothing. In the days after the treatment you will already notice a reduction in swelling and bruising. Occasionally a tingling in the arms or in the shoulders can be observed but this does not bother.
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a significant difference, the armpits are already dry! π
A week and a half later, there is no more swelling or bruising and you are rid of sweating and smelling armpits for good! The feeling of comfort is unimaginable. I have not used a deodorant since the treatment and have not noticed a single smell.
I would recommend the miraDry treatment to anyone!
testimonial woman (45 yrs):
Actually, I didn't really have a problem of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
So why did I have it done? Especially for the daily comfort. Apparently there are more people who undergo the treatment only to get more comfort in daily life. In the United States, many well-known movie stars have been treated with MiraDry, who used to have their armpits botoxed for a gala evening. The decisive factor for me was that I regularly had irritations under the armpits when using deodorant and also that I was worried about the harmful effects of deodorant (aluminum and parabens).
So the treatment was carried out in March. In the meantime we are half a year and .... a warm summer furtherπ.
Would I have the MiraDry done again? Without a doubt, yes. I see even more benefits now than before...
- I didn't have to use any deodorant at all. Even on vacation during the hottest periods of the day, I can wear all types of clothing (including delicate fabrics that are difficult to wash) without having to spray deodorant. So I also have to take a lot less clothes with me in my luggage. Not to mention the total cost when you add up how much deodorant you buy per year.
- no more wet circles under my armpits when I'm nervous or stressed.
- delicate fabrics such as silk and wool I can now just wash on a special program without an armpit sweat smell lingering. So also less costs to the dry cleaning.
For me, the treatment itself was painless (and I think of myself that I have a normal pain threshold). The only annoying thing is the administration of the anesthetic, but after that you no longer feel anything outside of a slight warm sensation towards the edges of the treated area. Immediately afterwards, icepacks were inserted under the arms. The following days the skin was swollen and irritated (blue) but that's peanuts compared to the results and lifelong pleasure.
I can now perfectly imagine that this is a must-treatment for hyperhidrosis patients but could not imagine how my quality of life has improved as a non-hyperhidrosis patient!
REVIEW MAN (30 yrs):
I had the sweat glands of my armpits treated with the Miradry laser. I am very satisfied with my treatment with the Miradry. It is a simple procedure with immediate results. Finally no more embarrassing sweat stains!

About three years ago I underwent a MiraDry treatment against perspiration. I wasn't so much bothered by how much I was sweating, but by the smell that accompanied it. I've been ashamed of it since I was a teenager. At work I always had extra tops with me and I had to change blouses several times a day. Especially before or after a meeting, because the nerves made me sweat even more. I also asked female colleagues several times to tell me if they smell something.
One thousand and one questions:
I knew Maria – who works for miraDry – and she told me all about the treatment. I was afraid of it, because it sounds quite drastic. You are given a local anesthetic and then the sweat glands under your armpits are turned off by heat. I had a thousand and one questions, but got an answer to everything. So I decided to go for it.
Tennis balls under your armpits:
Before the treatment I was on my nerves. I wasn't allowed to shave my armpits and wasn't allowed to use deodorant, so I came sweating profusely and smelly. They first do a sweat test with powder that turns black in the places where you sweat the most. For me, everything went black. Fortunately, I did not feel the treatment itself. Then I got icepacks against the swelling and the pain. On the way home we had to stop because they had already thawed, so we bought packaged ice creams to keep under my armpits (laughs). Fortunately, the pain was not too bad with a painkiller, but because of the swelling it literally feels like there is a tennis ball under your armpit. After about two weeks, the swelling and bruising were gone.
More self-confidence:
It's a pricey treatment and the recovery takes a while, but for me this was so worth it. I've gained a lot more confidence. I used to always have to wash my blazers or blouses after I had put them on, now I only have to when I have spilled them (laughs). I even bought satin blouses, something I could never wear before! Funnily enough, I don't think about it anymore. It used to be such a big issue in my life and since it's been resolved, I don't even think about it anymore.
