Breast Reduction
A breast reduction or mamma reduction is a surgical procedure that reduces, lifts and reshapes the breast.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SURGERY?
- For many women, overly large or heavy breasts can be a burden physically, aesthetically and even sometimes psychologically.
- They can also give neck – and back complaints.
- For a breast reduction, it is required that the breasts are fully grown.
TREATMENT
- Breast reduction surgery removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making smaller, lighter, and better-shaped breasts which are in proportion with the rest of the body.
- In some cases of sagging breasts, it is advised to perform a breast lift at the same time in order to restore the aesthetic shape. Please refer to the information under breast lift.
- A breast lift is performed in day surgery under general anaesthesia under continuous supervision of an experienced anaesthesiologist.
BREFORM INTERNAL BRA SYSTEM
- Breform is a surgical breast support in the form of a net or “permanent internal Bra System”.
- It is attached around the remaining gland, after the removal of excess gland or fat tissue.
- This is only possible in specific cases.
